Terms and Conditions
It is important here at Jacob Sheep Trekking that your experience with us is as safe and pleasurable as we can possibly make it. Agreeing to the following terms and conditions helps us to ensure this. If you have any questions regarding anything within these terms and conditions, we would be very happy to discuss them with you prior to your booking.
How it works
1. Browse our experiences and find out more.
2. View our availability and book online using our 'BOOK NOW' section.
3. You will receive an email with all the information needed for your experience, if you have any other questions you can contact us at any time.
4. Enjoy the experience.
Purchasing an experience
It is easy and secure to purchase your experience through us. Choose your experience and add it to your basket. If you are looking for a specific date please get in contact (info@sheeptrekking.co.uk) Once you are happy with your selection click 'checkout' and you will be forwarded to the secure payment system. We accept paypal, debit and credit cards through our website. We can also arrange payments through direct bank transfer. If you are purchasing from overseas your card company will convert the payment to your own currency.
If you have any problems with your shopping basket or payment contact us and we will try to resolve the issue.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. All vouchers are emailed, a unique code will be sent to the email used when purchasing. You must redeem the voucher prior to the expiry date or the voucher will cease to be valid. However, vouchers an be used to book experiences beyond the 12 month expiry date. Please note gift vouchers can be used against any of our experiences. Codes can only be redeemed once so please ensure you are utilising the full amount during booking.
The only exception to this is if an experience has to be cancelled or delayed through circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather.
Gift vouchers are flexible and can be used against any of our experiences, there is no charge for exchanging experiences, however if the cost of the chosen experience is of higher price that the original voucher then you will need to pay the price difference., vouchers are non-refundable.
Refund Policy
You have up to 14 days from purchase date to cancel your booking, following this no refunds can be provided less an admin fee of 10%. We can not transfer your deposit to an alternative date as by paying a deposit you have secured that date on time on the option you have chosen, therefore preventing others from taking those places.
Cancellation Policy
Should you need to cancel an experience booking you have already made, a credit voucher less an admin fee of 10% may be possible if we re-fill your spaces in time. If we are unable to fill your spaces then we will be unable to refund your booking.
Sometimes we have to cancel an experience for reasons beyond our control, such as the weather or animal welfare reasons. In this unlikely event, we will do our best to notify you as soon as possible and convert your experience to a voucher to use on an alternative date or time. We regret that, in these circumstances we are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses you may incur in relation to the cancelled experience. We suggest you take out cancellation insurance prior to your experience
Health and Safety
All treks and experiences are considered by us to be safe, providing you & everybody included in your party follow our advice, guidance and instruction at all times, however all activities are undertaken at your own risk.
ARRIVAL:
Visitors must arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the experience. For safety reasons, please do not arrive before this, as farm machinery will be operating and access to our farmyard for parking will not be available. It is important that experience groups keep together. If you arrive late, you will miss the experience. Please report to the reception / shop area on arrival where you will be met by your experience leader.
OUR FARM:
We run our farm experiences alongside a working farm. There will be areas visitors will not be able to enter and we ask you to respect that as we don't want any of our customers or animals put in danger. Don't worry there will be opportunities to see the farm animals throughout your experience.
PARKING:
Due to us being a working farm, we may need to operate farm machinery while walks and experiences are taking place. It is important you abide by our parking signage on arrival. Please note that for safety and security reasons, we can not allow members of the public to stay on site, unless they are participating in a experience. Therefore we ask that all chauffeurs drive off the farm into the local area and return at the time the session is due to end. We can advise about facilities in the local area, so please ask when booking.
WALKING ABILITY:
The trek/walking options require a moderate level of physical capability for you to be able to participate fully. We must be made aware of any medical condition or physical impairment which may affect your ability to participate. This includes; visual or hearing impairments and pregnancy. If you are unsure of your ability to participate fully or unsure of which option to choose, please discuss this with us, at the time of booking. We welcome the participation of disabled people in our experiences and lifestyle options though we recognise that certain experiences may present difficulties for those with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring that disabled customers are given every opportunity to participate, so we ask that you tell us about any relevant disability at the time of booking. This enables us to do our best to meet the participant’s particular needs. We can adapt some experiences to meet your needs.
You must be able to walk between 1-2 miles on uphill and uneven terrain. The walk is not difficult and we take a leisurely pace. If you have any uncertainties about your walking ability, we advise that you contact us before booking. Please note that we do not allow wheelchairs or pushchairs on our treks.
DOGS:
We do not allow dogs on site.
CLOTHING:
As this is a working farm, things can get muddy, especially if it has been wet. Most of our experiences are conducted off road so please wear suitable footwear. Umbrellas are not permitted. All sheep treks and experience options are outdoor activities and involve the handling of animals. We ask that you dress appropriately, taking the weather and nature of the activity into consideration. If a participant arrives with inappropriate clothing or footwear for the activity they have booked, we reserve the right not to allow them to handle the animals or trek for reasons of safety. A refund will not be available in these circumstances.
Participants of treks and experiences must be willing to listen and take instruction prior to handling the animals and during the treks and experiences. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, you will not be covered by our insurance policy and therefore will not be allowed to handle the animals. A refund will not be available in these circumstances.
Children and Spectators
Each experience option has an age restriction, for Health & Safety purposes.
Sheep walking: Children must have reached the minimum age of 12, on the day they participate, to lead a sheep independently. Any children under 12 must share a sheep with a paying adult. By paying and engaging on your experience or trek, you are agreeing that any children booked on, on the day of your booking have reached the respective age and the relevant birth date for the option you have booked.
We cannot take children under 16 years old on any option without and an accompanying, paying adult. As everybody on the trek is able to benefit from and enjoy the experience and is also able to learn about the animals, therefore either a spectator place or a place with a sheep, must also be purchased for accompanying adults.
Jacob Sheep Trekking reserve the right to decline a booking request, in the interest of safety or participant suitability, even if this becomes apparent on the day of the booking or immediately prior to a trek setting off. A refund will not be available in these circumstances.
Should you have anybody with you on the day who is not booked in on your experience or trek, such as family members accompanying your day out or chauffeurs, please note the following;
- Everybody is part of the experience even if they do not wish to walk a sheep, just like at a theme park where everybody pays for entry, as everybody benefits and gains from the experience, therefore everybody who enters the farm and wishes to meet the sheep must be booked in prior to your arrival.
Our Animals
All animals are kept with the highest possible welfare standards, and each activity is carefully managed with their wellbeing in mind. We hope it will be unlikely, but it is inevitable that occasionally an animal may have an off day, and we reserve the right to alter or cancel an experience should the experience possibly be detrimental to their health. If any issue is known in time, you will be contacted and alternative arrangements will be discussed. If we need to cancel an experience for this reason, an alternative date or activity will be offered or refund can be made.
Last Minute Deals
We often have late availability for experiences, and bookings for these can generally be made right up until the day before the experience date. Experiences bought under these conditions cannot be refunded or exchanged. Dates for an experience bought under these conditions, once booked, cannot be changed.
Insurance
We hold Public Liability Insurance but we request that you hold your own personal accident and cancellation insurance.
We recommend that you take out personal insurance for the unlikely event that you break down, have traffic delays, suffer from illness or are prevented in any other way from attending your booked session on time. If you know you will be arriving late, please contact your experience trainer – details given on your booking confirmation. If you are arriving more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to start the experience without you and your space/s may be forfeit. This is especially relevant with join-in sessions where other attendees will be negatively impacted.
Food
On experiences where food is provided, it will have been prepared in accordance with local Environment Safety and Health & Safety requirements. We are happy to accommodate food intolerances and preferences within reason where we have been given sufficient notice, ideally at least 7 days in advance.
All prices quoted in our promotional literature are correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to increase the price of any product without notice. You will be notified of any price increase before you place your order.
